Colossal Cave Roadway Improvements

Between Acacia Elementary School and Old Vail Road

The Pima County Department of Transportation is beginning the planning process for a roadway improvement project in your area. The project consists of reconstructing Colossal Cave Road between Acacia Elementary School and Old Vail Road.

Today, Colossal Cave Road consists of two travel lanes: one lane in each direction. The proposed improvements consist of two travel lanes with a continuous center turn lane, new sidewalks, landscaping, paved shoulders, and drainage structures.

The construction is tentatively scheduled to start during the Summer of 2011 and end in February, 2012.
