La Cholla Boulevard
Road Improvement Project:
Magee Road to Lambert Lane
An RTA Project by Pima County Department of Transportation
NOTICE: This web site will be updated during the design and construction phases of this project. Please check here for the latest news, background information and announcements of meetings or public events.
Dear La Cholla Neighbors,
With great anticipation, the County embarks upon another major roadway improvement project, La Cholla Boulevard from the north leg of Magee Road to Lambert Lane. This is one of the projects sponsored by the County and the RTA with a major concern being the flooding from the Cañada Del Oro Wash in times of rain.
Planned improvements include widening La Cholla Boulevard to a four lane divided roadway with a center median, paved shoulders, pedestrian way, and landscaped medians. In addition to increasing traffic capacity, safety will be enhanced in a number of ways.
Safety features include:
· Improved sight distances
· Improved drainage
· Improved intersection geometry
· Pedestrians ways
· Median curbs for access control
The Pima County Department of Transportation (PCDOT) design team will begin with a corridor study from Magee Road to Tangerine Road, followed by an Environmental Report from Magee Road to Lambert Lane. The design team will develop design plans for the project with input from a local Community Advisory Committee (CAC). PCDOT and our team of design professionals are committed to designing and constructing safe, functional, and
environmentally sensitive roads that enhance life in the community.
Sincerely,
PIMA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
