La Canada Road Improvement Project:
River Road to Ina Road

The Department of Transportation will be improving La Canada Drive between River Road and Ina Road. The improvements consist of widening the existing roadway in order to improve safety, reduce congestion, improve operations and increase mobility. Some of the improvements include; additional travel lanes, a raised landscape median, multi-use lanes, drainage cross-culverts, outside curbs with storm drain facilities, provision for pedestrians and equestrian uses, public art work and noise mitigation for adjacent residential
areas where warranted.

Initial project activities consisting of advance utility relocation and minor vegetation salvaging efforts are underway. The main project is currently being advertised for bid and construction activities will be initiated in Spring 2012 and are anticipated to conclude in Spring/Summer 2014.

A pre-construction open house will be scheduled in early 2012 to introduce the contractor, provide updates on utility efforts and activities, provide an overview of the construction sequencing, time lines and activities, and answer any questions.
